Cozumel Bed and Breakfast Amigo's B&B Welcomes YOU!

Below are some photos of pre Wilma and post Wilma , the strongest hurricane of recorded history.

With the advanced warning of Wilma´s approach to Cozumel, we decided to take a drive and snap some photos as experience has taught us Mother Nature often changes the shoreline and plant distrubution..For our memories we took a trip and here are the photos of Pre Wilma. All were shot on Thursday, Oct 21 mid morning to early afternoon both on the wild east coast where the waves were already crashing on the road to our garden and the first breezes of the tropical winds. All this just a "preview" of what would come...

Thursday Oct 21 Amigo's B&B evening hours winds rain have started. Palms blowing over

Late Thursday the winds picked up, the island lost electrical power and the rain fell..We were experiecing "Wilma's" power. Finally on Sunday morning, Oct 23, things were quiet enough to go outside and see the "new" Cozumel and the destruction created by Wilma. After spending more than two full days listening to the wind gusts and watching the rain fall from the window we could venture out.. Cozumel was changed forever.

On November 1 the downtown was on it´s way to reach the goal for the isalnd: to be ready Nov 14 for the return of the cruis ships to Cozumel.

Tuesday November 1 Main blvd just off corner of Calle 7

On the evening of Wednesday November 2 our place Amigo's B&B Cozumel on Calle 7 finally recieved electricity back. Seems a large transformer on our block fell during the storm and had to be ordered and delivered to the island..

The following day I headed out to Bacalar to attend to a Pre Wilma staff change over.. After spending a few weeks down at our Bacalar property, I returned on November 23 to find downtown Cozumel almost exactly like the pre Wilma tropical place it was...
